I started to look for experts and emailed a Tefillin maker. It set me back when he said he had no time to answer questions until after my passage was done. Luckily I found someone at my Shul who knows how to repair them and therefore knows almost as much as a real scribe.

2) For questions that the repair guy can't answer, how will you go about finding answers?
A Shul is a synagogue and if i cannot meet with the repair guy i will just continue as usual with my passage. maybe looking up any questions i would have posed to him.
